2014 has been a successful year for Stolen Cult with well-received releases on various labels, and to put the icing on the cake he returns to his parent ship NOISJ for an all new and exciting album. „Extremism in Reverse II“ oscillates easily between elegance and brutalism, between the bouncing swagger of crossbreed breakbeats and the merciless force of hardcore thumps, all garnished with entertaining samples, hell-raising breaks and buildups, and it wouldn’t be Stolen Cult without the usual dash of tongue-in-cheek humor, of course.

One of the main themes of this album is crossbreed, the sweeping type tailored for sweaty dance floors, as in the opener “Innocent Victim”, “Testing Drums” or the bass-wobbly “Gift of Life”. The latter features the helping hand of his fellow producer Suvjet, who also contributes the aptly titled “Lord of Darkness”, which then gets the hardcore makeover by Stolen Cult. “Welcome to Jamcore” is a bit of a novelty track, Raggacore which will make you drop your spliff, rude boys; “Strictly Hardcore Underground” is simply that, including the MC-ed proclamation, and “The Secured” tastes a bit of industrial. “Natural Disaster”, “Kill Them All” and “Stainless Steel” then close this album on a faster, darker note.

„Extremism in Reverse II“ doesn’t deny its old school roots, yet is very much a product of 2014, up-to-date harsh and varied, a good hour of extremist entertainment!
