Wirewound is an industrious producer from Romania with many releases under a number of different monikers already under his belt. “Wire Surge” consists of three tracks plus a remix each, making for 34 minutes that rumble and rattle like a freight train, carrying its load of electronic sound junk. Head-nodding braindance, rich with distortion and glitches, with the remixes even more on the experimental side: Swarm Intelligence makes “Redox Reaction” sound like an early Neubauten track, Jadotstad further dissects the breakcore leftovers of “Displacement Connector” and Bombardier plunges “Surge” into a threatening cinematic depth altogether.
